No mistaking it– today was gray, chilly, rainy (at times) & a great day for a cozy blanket and a book. High temperatures didn’t even sniff average, with most of us stuck in the low 40s, while others didn’t make it out of the 30s.

Talk about a dramatic change from yesterday’s uncharacteristic warmth!

Tonight will be similar enough, with stubborn clouds hanging around and temperatures largely in the 30s.

Don’t be surprised if you see some mist & drizzle as well. That’s how we start the day Friday too. However, things will change throughout the day!
Again, Friday will start off with clouds and a little drizzle possible. Temperatures will slowly, steadily climb through the 40s through the early afternoon. However, with clouds parting and some additional sunshine, along with a southwest wind, temperatures in the mid to late afternoon will jump, putting most of us in the 60s by the end of the day!

That’s good news for the folks headed to Fenway for the Sox home opener! First pitch will be at 2:10 PM, at which point you can expect temperatures to be in the low to mid 50s. We should be around 60 by the 7th inning stretch, and in the low 60s at the end of the game.

We’ll stay warm into Saturday morning. In fact, we’ll end the morning in the neighborhood of 60 degrees before an abrupt turnaround in temperatures thanks to a back-door cold front (basically think of a cold front that moves “backwards” compared to normal). That will have temperatures plummeting into the 40s by Saturday afternoon. That said, this front doesn’t have much moisture to work with, and the day will stay dry, though we’ll see some clouds and a breeze as well.

The same cannot be said for Easter Sunday. The day starts out dry, and it looks like highs will be well above average in the low 60s. However as another front approaches the region, clouds increase and showers arrive by the late afternoon/early evening.
