An adult and child were hospitalized after they were struck by a falling tree branch at the Franklin Park Zoo Tuesday, officials said.
At around 12:45 p.m., emergency crews responded to the zoo after a branch injured the two outside the Farmhouse Cafe, according to a statement from Zoo New England.
The school-aged child was taken to Boston Children’s Hospital with serious injuries, Massachusetts State Police said.
The adult, who brought the child at the zoo, was also taken to a local hospital with injuries, police said.
The incident remains under investigation. No other information was immediately available.
