(CNN) —  Advisers to President Donald Trump are expected Wednesday to present the president with options for a deal to invest in TikTok that involves a number of well-heeled venture capital, private equity funds and tech companies, multiple sources familiar with the discussions say, as the White House tries to cleave the popular social video app away from Chinese ownership ahead of an April 5 deadline. Interested parties have been eyeing a takeover of the popular short-form video app since US lawmakers passed a bill requiring the app to be sold to a US entity or be banned in the country. When Trump took office, he declined to enforce the ban for 75 days to reach a deal, but the law requires a deal to be in advanced negotiation stages to pursue another delay in banning the app. Two large hurdles must be cleared for any potential deal: Trump must sign off on a proposal and China’s President Xi Jinping must then agree. A coalition of state attorneys general sued the Trump administration on Tuesday over its decision to  cut $11 billion in federal funds that go toward COVID-19  initiatives and  various public health projects  across the country. Attorneys general from 23 states filed the suit  in federal court in Rhode Island. They include New York Attorney General Letitia James and Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser, as well as Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and the District of Columbia. The lawsuit argues the cuts are illegal, and that the federal government did not provide “rational basis” or facts to support the cuts. The attorneys general say it will result in “serious harm to public health” and put states “at greater risk for future pandemics and the spread of otherwise preventable disease and cutting off vital public health services.” The lawsuit asks the court to immediately stop the Trump administration from rescinding the money, which ...

Five people were taken to the hospital after a truck hit several pedestrians in downtown Boston Tuesday afternoon, according to the Boston Fire Department. Two people, including the driver, are in critical condition and three others sustained minor injuries in the crash on Kneeland Street, according to Deputy Fire Chief Steven Shaffer. Three of the patients were taken to Tufts Medical Center, according to the hospital. One witness said he saw the Penske box truck “jumping” and “twisting” before it came to a stop up against a commercial building. He said he tried to help the driver out of the truck’s cab, but he was pinned inside. The box truck could be seen on its side, wedged near Tora Ramen, Otaku Gift Shop, and Great Wall Kitchen Supplies. Debris was scattered on the ground. “The technical team, if you see the cab there, they actually had to cut the top of the cab and peel it back to get the driver out,” Sha...

(CNN) —  The bodies of three of the four US soldiers who were  reported missing  after their vehicle was submerged in a bog in Lithuania last week have been recovered, the Army announced on Monday. The vehicle has also been recovered. “The Soldiers we have lost in this tragedy were not just Soldiers – they were a part of our family. Our hearts are heavy with a sorrow that echoes across the whole Marne Division, both forward and at home,” Maj. Gen.
