(CNN) —  A Southwest Airlines plane and a private jet that entered the runway without authorization experienced a close call at Chicago Midway International Airport on Tuesday morning, the Federal Aviation Administration said. Southwest Flight 2504 landed safely at the Chicago airport after the flight crew had to perform a go-around to prevent a potential incident, according to Southwest. The FAA is investigating the incident, which took place at around 8:50 a.m. local time. The close call comes as the National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA are investigating a string of safety incidents in recent weeks, including the  deadly midair collision  over the Potomac River near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport last month, a  Medevac jet crash  in Philadelphia and a deadly  regional airline crash  off the coast of Nome, Alaska. Boston Water and Sewer Commission crews responded to reports of flooding at an intersection in West Roxbury Tuesday. Judge Beverly Cannone said she wants the defense to explain what kind of contact it had with expert witnesses on accident reconstruction , who testified in Read’s first trial. WASHINGTON (AP) — President  Donald Trump  said he was hopeful that Russia’s war in Ukraine was nearing an endgame as he met on Monday with French President Emmanuel Macron on the third anniversary of the invasion. Trump, in broad-ranging comments on the state of  the conflict , said he believed Russian President Vladimir Putin would accept European peacekeepers in Ukraine to keep the peace. A 100-year-old driver crashed into a bait shop in Bourne on Saturday, officials said. Officers responding to a report of a vehicle into a business on Barlows Landing Road around 11:50 a.m. determined a 2003 Toyota Camry driver by a 100-year-old man from Bourne crashed into Maco’s Bait Shop and caused significant damage. The business was unoccupied at the time of the crash and there were no reported injuries. The Museum of Science is offering a lifesaving lesson through a new CPR training kiosk. The museum is partnering with the American Heart Association to help people learn the technique. The kiosk, complete with a rubber torso, teaches visitors how to do CPR to the beat of the song “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees. Visitors receive feedback on their hand placement, as well as the depth and rate of their chest compressions, according to the AHA. Tim Richie, the president of the museum, said he was excited to bring the new technology to Boston. “It is a 30-second trial where you are actually pushing on a dummy with your hands to perform CPR and the dummy actually responds and shows you you’re moving too quickly, you’re moving too slowly. And you get a score. And you get better, and better, and better at it,” Richie said. Damien Knighton, 41, is facing charges of indecent assault and battery on four alleged victims over 14 years old. Both the defense and prosecution spoke to the jury about what to expect during the trial. “Patients regularly put themselves into vulnerable positions while at the doctor’s office, because they trust that the medical professionals they’re there seeing are there to help them,” a prosecutor said. “This defendant, Damien Knighton, he weaponized that trust.” Knighton’s defense attorney maintained his client’s innocence. “After you’ve heard all the evidence in this case, you’ll know that Damien Knighton didn’t indecently assault anybody at that clinic,” he said. The IRS, which contains private data on millions of Americans’ tax returns, Social Security numbers and banking information, is the latest agency to be targeted by DOGE as it seeks to significantly reduce the size of the federal workforce and root out what it characterizes as waste, fraud and abuse within the government.
