WASHINGTON (AP) — President  Donald Trump  on Thursday rolled out his plan to increase U.S. tariffs to match the tax rates that other countries charge on imports, possibly triggering a broader economic confrontation with allies and rivals alike as he hopes to eliminate any trade imbalances. “I’ve decided for purposes of fairness that I will charge a reciprocal tariff,” Trump said in the Oval Office at the proclamation signing. “It’s fair to all. The audio was captured by a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration moored passive acoustic recorder, approximately 900 miles from the implosion site, the Coast Guard said. The Republican said in a social media post Wednesday disclosing a call between the two leaders that they would “work together, very closely.” The call followed a prisoner swap that resulted in Russia releasing American schoolteacher Marc Fogel, of Pennsylvania, after more than three years of detention. The Worcester City Council voted Tuesday to declare the city a sanctuary for people who are transgender. The council voted 9 to 2 in favor, with the resolution coming after more than three hours of public testimony from members of the LGBTQ community and their allies.
