A 39-year-old Boston man was taken into custody Monday afternoon after transit police say he peed on one of their cruisers. Officers responding to reports of people loitering and drinking alcohol at Newmarket Station around 4:30 p.m. say they found Rogelio Martinez-Vazquez sleeping on a bench with a shattered bottle nearby. Martinez-Vazquez allegedly became combative when officers told him to find another place to sleep, stalked off and began to relieve himself on their cruiser. Jeffrey Buchannan, 33, of Bedford, Massachusetts, is charged in the killing of Rhonda Pattelena, 35, at Short Sands Beach in York, officials said. He appeared before a judge in York County on Tuesday. The judge also ordered a mental health evaluation for Buchannan, who did not enter a plea during the videoconference appearance. (CNN) — Game official Bert Smith collapsed Tuesday evening in the first half of the men’s  NCAA  basketball game between No. 6 seed USC and No. 1 overall seed Gonzaga in Indianapolis. Smith was taken off on a gurney. He was sitting upright and appeared to be talking to a man walking beside him. Smith was feeling lightheaded while on the court, according to the TBS broadcast. “Bert is alert and stable and will not be transported to a hospital. Rochelle Hager, 31, of Waterville, was an executive chef who posted popular TikTok videos and was engaged to be married this fall. “It happened really quick,” Brittanie Lynn Ritchie  told the Morning Sentinel . “She has a phone mounted in her vent. I just heard a crash and then there was nothing.” Hager was driving in Farmington when a storm that produced gusts topping 50 mph (80 kph) toppled the tree limb and killed her instantly, authorities said.
